Philip Ruben has been in private practice for almost 30 years and concentrates his practice on corporate, transactional and securities matters, serving privately-held and public companies of all sizes. Philip has substantial experience in representing software companies and in dealing with license agreements, intellectual property issues including infringement claims, and re-seller agreements for distribution. Philip also has substantial experience in areas such as capital raising (in the form of either equity or leverage), financing and structuring of transactions relating to the acquisition, sale or other disposition of entities or their assets. Philip counsels clients with respect to day-to-day business matters, governance and structuring, including succession and estate planning.
Prior to founding the firm, Philip was a partner at Arnstein & Lehr in the Business Transactions Group, and prior to that a partner at Levenfeld & Pearlstein, LLC in Chicago, where he was a member of the Corporate Practice Group, the Restructuring and Insolvency Group and the Corporate and Finance Group. Philip also sat on the Executive Committee and Promotions Committee for the firm.
Philip is also a Registered Certified Public Accountant with the State of Illinois.
Philip served as President of the North Suburban YMCA in Northbrook, Illinois and recently saved the facility from foreclosure by restructuring loans, attracting new donors and members and reorganizing management. He presently serves as an advisory director for the North Suburban YMCA, and also was an advisory director for the American Theatre Company in Chicago.
